The relationship between the intrusive effect of a bite-raising splint and facial morphology was investigated in 20 adult patients with extreme tooth wear. Correlation analyses were performed between the amount of intrusion and basal and dento-alveolar measurements as well as the thickness of the splint. The only parameter showing a statistically significant correlation was the thickness of the splint.
