Twins concordant for cleft lip and/or palate are an uncommon but valuable resource in the study of congenital clefts. Two sets of monozygotic twins concordant for cleft lip and/or palate are described. An interesting feature is that the pairs show variability in the extent of the malformation, but all the children are affected. The genetics of cleft lip and/or palate susceptibility are discussed.
